JEE Main 2019 Schedule

The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) will be conducted twice in a year from 2019 by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Meanwhile, JEE Advanced would continue to be conducted by the IITs.

JEE (Main) in Jan 2019 and April 2019:
Jan 2019
  • Application process: 01.09.2018 to 30.09.2018
  • Dates of examination: Between 06.01.2019 to 20.01.2019
  • Declaration of results: First week of Feb 2019

April 2019
  • Application process: Second week of Feb 2019
  • Dates of examination: Between 07.04.2019 to 21.04.2019
  • Declaration of results: First week of May 2019

The tests would be computer-based. The exams would be held over a span of four-five days and students would have the option of choosing the dates

The syllabus, question formats, language and fees for the exams would not be changed

Educational qualification required:
The candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.

Candidates interested in applying need to be intermediate or class 12 pass from a recognized board and must have appeared and qualified in class 12th examination in 2016 or 2017 or should appear in the class 12 examination in 2018.

Admission criteria for IIT:
The number of maximum attempts for JEE Main is limited to three.

The admission criteria to undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions, institutions funded by participating state governments, and other institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).

All those candidates who have successfully cleared the JEE (Mains) will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam round. Students will be allotted colleges on the basis of these two written exams.

Examination cities:
JEE (Main) 2018 will be conducted in major cities and towns of India as well as abroad.

While applying, candidates must select four centre cities in case of pen and paper based examination and one city in case of computer based examination.

Scheme of examination:
Paper 1 (BE/B. Tech) of JEE (Main) 2018: This will be conducted in two separate modes i.e. offline (Pen and Paper Based Examination) mode and online (Computer Based Examination) mode.

Paper 2 (B. Arch/B. Planning) of JEE (Main) 2018: This will be conducted only in pen and paper based examination mode.

Aadhar mandatory:
Moreover, CBSE has made it mandatory to have an Aadhar card to apply for the exam. Candidates who already have an Aadhar card will have to enter their aadhar number in their application form.

Those who have applied for their Aadhar but have not received it yet will have to provide Aadhar enrolment id in the application form.

Languages JEE wil be conducted in:
The papers will be conducted in English and Hindi mediums, except in Gujarat, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli where the paper will also be conducted in Gujarati.
